A lot of people, especially those used to doing business without the use of the internet, may find it difficult and impractical to use business apps to promote the services that they offer as well as to get in touch with potential clients. However, seeing as most people now have mobile phones, including kids, and with Wi-Fi zones and internet plans for mobile phones becoming increasingly popular, it may not be such a bad idea to put effort into learning more about how to utilize these applications.

Applications can be obtained from websites and app markets. Some of them are free, while others require payment, which really isn’t so bad because paid applications tend to have more features compared to the free ones. One of the most popular app markets is Google Play, formerly known as the Android Market. It is pre-loaded on mobile phones that has an Android operating system, and is home to several of the top free mobile applications, although it also offers applications that require payment.

Of course, one cannot talk about app markets without mentioning Apple’s App Store. Unlike Google Play which supports several brands of mobile phones and tablet PCs, the App Store is only available to those who own gadgets that were designed and manufactured by Apple, for example, the iPhones and the iPads. However, that shouldn’t suggest that it is less popular than the former, or that it has fewer applications to offer. In fact, as of January, 2012, Apple’s App Store has 550,000 applications while Google Play has 450,000. Continue reading »
